Michael has dedicated his entire career to serving the developing Telecommunications and Broadband markets around the world and has led several startup and established companies to participate in new vertical markets in the industry. In recent assignments, Michael headed up Somcable Limited in Djibouti North East Africa as its CEO, a company formed to design, install and deploy a Terrestrial Fiber Optic cable between Djibouti and Somaliland. Under Michael’s leadership, Somcable successfully completed this task which included a fully equipped Data Center in the region, capable of delivering the latest in IP Switching and Routing technology. As a pioneer in Wireless Fiber-Through-The-Air [FTTA] technology, Michael successfully deployed the first High Capacity Wireless Access network on the African continent for Somcable which earned Michael the prestigious Global Telecoms Business Innovations Award 2013 for “Solving the Broadband Access Challenge in Africa”. Michael accepted a role at Hammer Fiber to introduce new vertical markets such as those deployed by him in Africa and Europe and to guide management in the successful deployment of this ground-breaking wireless last mile connectivity, working in tandem with fiber optic technology in the USA. Michael has held several executive and senior consulting roles with industry-leading organizations such as Globecomm Systems in New York and Intercel Telecoms Group, the first company to deploy Mobile Communications in Africa. Michael also serves on the Advisory Board of Jonathan Capital Partners, a Boutique Private Equity Advisory Firm focused on the Telecoms and Media Industries.
Michael has spent his career in all facets of business startups including retail management, custom home design and construction as well as having spent many lucrative years in the automotive repair service industry. Michael now spends his time as an early stage investor in companies such as Hammer, where as a Board Member, he takes a “hands on approach” in entrepreneurial guidance of the executive management team in both the principals of successful business methodology and the appropriate practice of corporate governance procedures. At age 25, Michael oversaw the startup and daily operation of Westfield Building Products Co. Inc, a retail building material supplier which, under his direction, soon became a multimillion dollar family business. In 1990, following his documented success and the vast knowledge he gained in retail operations, Michael began guiding fledgling small retailers in developing their businesses, teaching pricing strategies, inventory control methods and marketing techniques. In 1995, Michael founded Fieldstone Properties, a design and construction provider of high-end custom built homes which went on to become another of Michael’s string of successful business ventures.
In 2004, Michael took over as CEO of Sevell's Auto Body Company Inc, a family business and one of the largest auto repair facilities in the State of New Jersey founded by his father and where as a young man, Michael learnt the principals of sound business practices and good corporate governance. In 2006 and now firmly established as a serial entrepreneur, Michael formed MGD Sevell Services, Inc. to oversee the operation and continued success of all the group business interests. Michael is not only a highly valued member of the Board of Hammer Fiber but has also personally invested the majority of the seed capital in the company and is Head of the Hammer Fiber Investment Committee.
Dennis is currently the Chairman, President & CEO of Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ:MSEX), a highly successful publicly-traded investor-owned water and waste water utility company, serving homes and businesses comprising a population of nearly half a million people, primarily in New Jersey and Delaware. The company also provides contract utility services to the U.S. Department of Defense and other governmental, as well as industrial, clients. Prior to joining Middlesex, Mr. Doll served as Vice President & Controller of E’town Corporation, a publicly-traded company engaged in regulated and non-regulated water utility operations. Mr. Doll has a diverse management background related to water and waste water utilities, contract operations, capital management and corporate governance. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics from Upsala College and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Doll is Treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Water Research Foundation, the research arm of the drinking water industry, headquartered in Denver, CO, which is comprised of more than 1,000 public and private water utility subscribers across the United States, Canada and Australia. He further serves on the Foundation’s Executive Committee. He is a Director and Past Chairman of the Board of the New Jersey Utilities Association, representing the state’s electric, gas, water and telecommunications industries. Mr. Doll also serves as a Director, and is Immediate Past President, of the National Association of Water Companies, the national trade association representing the investor-owned water industry, headquartered in Washington, DC. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the New Jersey Climate Adaptation Alliance of Rutgers University, and also serves on the Board of Directors of Raritan Bay Medical Center in New Jersey, further serving as Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of this non-profit institution.
Paul Donovan serves as the CFO and COO of Salem Management Company, a highly successful, privately held real estate investment firm, focusing on the development and management of multi-family housing, shopping centers, office buildings and condominiums. Paul had previously held the CFO position at a regionally successful Real Estate Management Company for 13 years, a position he had transitioned to from a 10-year long role as a computer consultant.
Paul also heads KNL Consulting, LLC, an energy consulting firm, which has found success through Paul’s leadership. Having leveraged his experience and expertise, Paul has developed a specialization in the area of deregulated natural gas and electricity, and has cultivated relationships by partnering with cable and fiber optic providers over the past 20 years.
Paul holds a BS in Business Administration from Cornell University, which has provided him a strong basis to draw from in the areas of marketing, management, accounting, and computers. He has combined this educational knowledge with years of experience, and has joined the Hammer Fiber Optic Investments team as an advisory board member, intent on imparting those years of experience and expertise to offer guidance in the continued success of the company.
